What it is
Neuromodulators (commonly known as Botox) relax the activity of specific facial muscles to soften expression lines. We apply them conservatively: the aim is a face that looks rested, not operated on.
What it can help with
They treat dynamic expression lines on the forehead, frown and around the eyes, and also have functional uses such as a gummy smile and jaw tension from bruxism.
Aesthetic — and functional too
Not every indication is about wrinkles. Some of the most useful are purely functional.
Forehead
Horizontal lines that appear when raising the eyebrows. Treated with particular care so the brow is not dropped.
Frown lines
The two vertical lines that give a permanently angry or worried look. The most rewarding area to treat.
Crow's feet
Lines around the eye when smiling. Softened while keeping the smile expressive.
Brow lift
A discreet non-surgical brow lift that opens the gaze and rests the upper third of the face.
Gummy smile
When too much gum shows on smiling, relaxing the upper lip balances the smile.
Bruxism
In the masseter muscle: reduces clenching force, eases jaw tension and protects against tooth wear.
How it works
After a medical assessment we map the injection points to your particular muscle pattern, place micro-injections without anaesthetic in 15–20 minutes, and include a review at two weeks.
What it can and cannot do
It does resolve
Dynamic expression lines: those appearing on movement in the forehead, frown and eye contour. Also gummy smile and bruxism-related tension.
It does not resolve
Laxity, lost volume or lines already etched at rest. Those need other techniques — biostimulation, fillers or peels.
If your case needs something else, we say so at the assessment. We do not place neuromodulators where they will not work.
Who it may suit
It suits people with expression lines who want a natural effect rather than a dramatic change, and patients with bruxism causing jaw tension.
Benefits and limitations
Sessions are short with no social downtime and the effect is visible within days, but it acts on dynamic lines rather than static ones or laxity, and it is temporary: 4–6 months.
What to expect, day by day
Same day
You return to your routine immediately. There may be slight redness or a small injection mark that fades within hours.
Days 3 to 5
You start noticing the expression soften. It is normal for one side to respond before the other: this is not yet the final result.
Week 2
The effect has stabilised. At the review we assess the real result and fine-tune with a touch-up if any point needs it.
First 24 hours: do not massage or rub the treated area, avoid intense exercise, sauna and extreme heat, do not lie face down for four hours, and skip alcohol that day.

Common questions
- Does it leave the face frozen?
- That is not our aim. We use conservative doses so you keep expressing naturally. We prefer to under-dose and adjust at the review rather than overdo it.
- When are results visible?
- The effect starts to show at three to five days and stabilises at around two weeks. That is why the review is at two weeks: it is when the real result is visible.
- How long do results last?
- Between 4 and 6 months, depending on the area, the dose and each person's metabolism. With repeated sessions the interval often lengthens.
- Does it hurt?
- Very little. These are micro-injections with a very fine needle and the session lasts 15–20 minutes. It needs no anaesthetic and most patients describe a brief pinprick.
- Can I carry on as normal afterwards?
- Yes, with no social downtime. We only ask you to avoid intense exercise, sauna and lying face down for the first hours, and not to massage the treated area that day.
- Does it work on lines already etched at rest?
- Partly. It acts on expression lines that appear on movement. Lines already set at rest improve over time but usually need combining with other techniques. We tell you honestly at the assessment.
- Is it true it helps bruxism?
- Yes. Applied in the masseter muscle it reduces clenching force, which eases jaw tension, pain and tooth wear. It is one of the uses where the benefit is more functional than aesthetic.
- Are there cases where it is not recommended?
- Pregnancy and breastfeeding, certain neuromuscular conditions, active infection in the area or allergy to the components. That is why the prior medical assessment is not a formality: it determines whether we can treat you safely.
